Description de la formation
The Software Sciences and Engineering track focuses on two key aspects of software engineering: on the one hand, the development of the main software engineering support tools like modeling and programming languages, IDE, compilers, interpreters, middleware, operating systems, graphical user interfaces, etc; and on the other hand the formal foundation of software sciences and the development of safety critical systems relying on formal methods to ensure their correctness.
The Image and Multimedia track is positioned at the interface between IT and applied mathematics. The compression of multimedia data (videos, graphics or 3D worlds for example) is typically a topic where probabilities allow us to calculate a maximum compression rate and where tree-based algorithms reach this rate. Even more obviously, the most popular multimedia services (think, for example, about Youtube or augmented reality applications on mobiles) use both IT and applied mathematics.
