Why study engineering abroad ?

print

What are the benefits of an international program?

The aspect of their education that young engineers will most value is likely to be their international exposure.

Most engineers in training today will be called upon to manage projects, teams, and even entire firms that will face stiff competition and rapid change in an unforgiving global market. An international work or study experience prepares them as no other experience can to adapt to a world of perpetual change.

Engineering managers and consultants need more than a solid academic training. Learning to do their best in a different cultural environment is the best way, perhaps the only way, to master the cultural dimension of their new vocation, which will oblige them to operate in widely varying settings and circumstances.

Mobility of students is a necessity

For French students who have completed at least four years of academic work (bac + 4 years of higher education in the French system), the “n+i” Network provides opportunities to study and train abroad. The academic program is complemented by involvement in the culture of the host country and its business practices. Students are challenged not only to widen and deepen the scientific and technical competencies required of an engineer, but also to experience first hand the economic, social, and managerial context of their future profession through cultural adaptation, language study, credit-bearing internships, and paid traineeships.
