The level in French !

print

Put all the chances in your side by starting the study of French before your departure, it is a very good way to prepare your stay in France but also to prove your motivation to go to France.

In order to place you in an appropriate course in intensive French (Package for linguistic integration) and prepare you to participate in seminars, follow a lecture, and contribute to professional meeting, we must know your level of proficiency in written and oral French when you enroll.

In the "n+i" programmes, we ask, before your arrival in France, for
  • A minimum training in French of 300 hours in accredited courses (such as Alliances Françaises),
  • Or a minimum level A2 of one of the French Tests (TEF or TCF).

To determine this, we ask you to take a standard test (1):
  • either the TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)
  • or the TEF (Test d'Evaluation en Français),
both standard evaluation tests designed for non-French speakers

(1) If no test of French proficiency (TEF or TCF) are available where the students live they have to provide evidence of their proficiency from an approved individual or organization (more information contact@nplusi.com ).

These tests do not lead to a certificate or a diploma, but an assessment of proficiency.

In a competition between two equivalent academic qualifications, the admission or the awarding of a scholarship may be linked to the level in French, i.e. the motivation!

If your level in French is good enough, proven by a a degree such as the DELF or DALF or test level B2 you may get an exemption for the package of linguistic integration and possibly the package of methodological integration.

The test to get the visa

The French Embassy (French Consulate or the CampusFrance-CEF office) may ask for the results of a test to deliver the visa. You must contact the French Consulate or the CampusFrance-CEF office to know the requirements in your country.
