The French language

print

Do you speak very little or no French? “n+i” was created to help you.

Learning French as a foreign language should not be a handicap but a tremendous chance for your carrier!

From the early beginning of the “n+i” programmes we have checked that students having a very responsible attitude may overcome, thanks to special “n+i” programmes, the French language. Moreover, the language used in the scientific or technological field is not very difficult because words are very close to those used in English and because Mathematics, Physic, Chemistry…. are universal!

Whatever your choice of program, “n+i” Network has set up a flexible and original system in which the student’s initial level of proficiency in French is not considered in decisions to admit students to the program.

Through a period of cultural and linguistic adjustment, “n+i” prepares incoming students to speak French at the level of proficiency necessary to succeed in the programme. The adjustment period is a plus at “n+i” compared to other international programmes. Students have 6 to 8 months in France to improve their ability to speak, write, and understand French!

Courses in French, from beginner to advanced, are designed especially for incoming students. The courses are offered before classes begin (package linguistic integration or pre master PCLM12) and/or during the package for methodological integration (PIM). Students whose French is already adequate for the programme are excused from the intensive French requirement.

Learning French before your depart to France is very important because it proves your motivation and helps you to start well your stay in France.

Please note that in some countries, a minimum level of French (Tests TCF or TEF or number of hours of French learning) is required to get the visa.

If your level in French is too low to be autonomous, you must justify a good level in English to communicate with any body in France (TOEFL 550 minimum for example).
Anyway a minimum level in English will be needed to get the master degree “n+”.
