Exemptions of packages for Integration

print

The Packages for Cultural, Linguistic and Methodological integration are, for foreign students, very good trump cards for « success ». They are managed by “n+i” Network on behalf engineering schools, to help students.

The "Cultural Integration" (PIC, including welcome) package with the Package for “Methodological Integration" (PIM) and the package for "Linguistic Integration" (PIL), are part of the integration program.

The "Cultural Integration" package is therefore compulsory (no exemption) for students that participate in either the "linguistic integration" or "methodological integration" package.

The only possible case of exemption is for students who are exempted by their schools of the Package for “Methodological Integration" (PIM) and the package for "Linguistic Integration" (PIL). It is the responsibility of the student to ask for the exemption.
Even in that case, we strongly recommend to students to keep the "Cultural Integration" package.

Note: exceptional requests for exemptions (family in France or early arrival etc.) should be sent to the "student" department of the "n+i" Network.

The package for "linguistic integration" (PIL), enables students, whether beginners or not in French, to achieve fluency before beginning training.

  1. Only the "n+i" Network recruitment department is authorised to exempt a student from a linguistic integration package based on justifications supplied by the student in due time.
  2. To be exempted, the student has to provide justification that he has a good level of French by entering for DELF 2 or the level B2 of a French test.
  3. Otherwise, the "n+i" Network may take into consideration a certificate issued by an authorised organisation or a letter from an accredited person.

In the event of an exemption, students will commence courses in September and the cost of this training will be deducted from their invoice.

We remind you that two packages for "Methodological Integration" (PIM) are offered.

Accordingly:
  • Weak students in French, who do not have any particular knowledge of the French academic system, will follow the Joint "Methodological Integration" Package organised jointly by a number of schools.
  • Average students in French who already have knowledge of France, may be offered the Local "Methodological Integration" Package provided by their local engineering school.

1.     As the "Methodological Integration" (PIM) Package is part of students training, it is the school that decides on the package (joint or local PIM)
2.     Only the receiving school is authorised to exempt a student from a methodological integration package based on its own criteria. It informs the "n+i" Network which notifies the decision to the student.
3.     The PIM package is included in the coursework and does not therefore require any additional time! In other words, an exemption replaces the MIP package with a normal semester with French students(1).
4.     To be exempted from PIM package, the student has to:
situation 1: be able to justify a very good level of French and adequate preparation for studying in France, having obtained the DALF.
situation 2(1): have already successfully followed a cultural linguistic and methodological preparation (Pre-master or PCLM12) in France or abroad (with cooperation agreements).

(1) In this case, in September, the student participates in courses with French students without any specific assistance, although this does not reduce the length of time needed to obtain a degree. On the other hand, the cost of the "Methodological Integration" Package will, of course, be deducted from the invoice.
