The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) is a prestigous higher educationengineering school.
It has trained over 85,000 engineers since its founding in 1780 by the Duke de La Rochefoucauld Liancourt.
It is a public scientific, cultural and professional institution (EPCSCP) under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Metiers is part of the PRES Paris Tech* of which it is a founding member. In 2007, its name was changed to “Arts et Métiers ParisTech”.

ParisTech PRES
The Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers is a founding member of the ParisTech PRES* made up of ten major engineering schools among some of the most prestigious.
In this context, it has adopted a brand name and is now known as "Arts et Métiers ParisTech".
The Arts et Métiers engineer is a qualified engineer, whose professional outlook is focused towards the design of products and production systems.
Training is articulated around the following 3 central focuses:

The Arts et Métiers engineers can be found in all areas of industry: Mechanical and electrical construction, steel, aviation and space, information technology, transportation, construction, telecommunications, services (SSII, consulting and audit, research and development, etc).
As part of their curriculum, Arts et Métiers ParisTech engineering students have to carry out a performance internship, an industrial internship and an expertise project .
Performance Internship
Initial contact with the business world, the objective being to carry out operational tasks as a performer.
Duration: 4 weeks during the 1st quarter of the first year (usually mid-October to mid-November)
Sectors: Production or Industrial Services.

In addition, 1st year students have the opportunity to do an internship during the months of July and August (subject to be determined with the student).
Industrial Internship
During this internship period, the engineering students make their engineering expertise available for an operational mission in a company. This internship can be carried out abroad.
The training takes place over three years (6 semesters) for most of the courses on offer. Some courses require one to two extra semesters of study.
This training is based on a common core, provided mainly during the first two years.
In the first year (semesters 5 and 6), the teaching is adapted to the various recruitment channels . All students take the same courses. Only the number of hours in each academic credit differs.
In the third year, the engineering student chooses an Expertise Unit from among the specialties taught at Arts et Métiers ParisTech.
The engineering student may replace the third year of studies with a Research Master (M2)
He obtains an engineering diploma and a Research Masters degree.
This option allows the future engineer to move towards Research as a profession and to complete his studies with a doctorate.
Arts et Métiers ParisTech offers more than 20 specialties in Science and Technology and a specialty in Management Sciences.

Arts et Métiers ParisTech has a human and material potential that make it an outstanding leader both nationally and regionally.
The school can therefore provide support to a number of industrial sectors in a range of advanced technologies.
Arts et Métiers ParisTech is backed by a contractual research organization, SERAM . It is responsible for facilitating technology transfers and developing industrial applications. It participates in contract negotiation and contract management.
Arts et Métiers ParisTech is therefore able to provide industrials with the resources of its 23 laboratories (http://www.ensam.eu/en/research/laboratories ) for study and research work (products, processes...) and technical assistance.
Each Arts et Métiers ParisTech Campus is in contact with the regional businesses that facilitate creating new businesses or company buyouts. Certain campus, such as Paris and Cluny , have established their own facilities designated for business start up projects.
Most of the time, the Expertise Project concerns an actual industrial problem.
Most of these projects are initiated by a company, a research laboratory or organization that would like to utilize the skills of an Arts et Métiers ParisTech engineer student.
It is accomplished during the final year of study.

Promoting positive interpersonal communication
To promote positive interpersonal communication between students, industrial leaders and professors in the Education and Research Campus, Arts et Métiers ParisTech organizes a number of annual events.

If a bilateral Erasmus agreement exists between your university and Arts et Métiers ParisTech, you may be eligible to benefit from Erasmus financing granted by your university.
Contact the International Relations Service in your department or your university.
French government grants are reserved for students from countries who have signed a bilateral agreement with France. Your candidacy is submitted through the intermediary of the French embassy's cultural services in your country at least a year before your departure for France.
You may also obtain a grant for studies abroad from your own government. Contact the institution in charge of education in your country.
A list of grants provided by international or nongovernmental organizations is published by UNESCO twice a year in their Studies Abroad guide.
A scholarship may be granted by the Arts et Metiers Foundation, after studying the records based on criteria of excellence. This type of scholarship is not awarded every year.
Compulsory tuition fees
Tuition fees are approximately 850 € and include the following:
University fees (Erasmus students and certain exchange students are exempted)
Student social security (Students from the European Union who are holders of a European Medical Insurance card are exempted)..
The student card gives access to CROUS services (institution in charge of social services to students such as university restaurants, housing, etc.) and allows them to benefit from discounts at the movie theatre, theatre, libraries, exhibitions, shows and transportation.
The student has to pay the applicable registration fees for both years: Approximately 850 Euros per year (including Student Social Security).
The cost of the Methodology Integration Semester is approximately 3,150 Euros and is the student\'s responsibility.
When necessary, this semester is preceded, in July or August, by a cultural and linguistic integration period, also to be paid by the student (2,500 Euros).
The actual cost of engineering studies in France is approximately 20,000 Euros per year. The French government pays this amount directly to Arts et Métiers ParisTech so students are not required to pay these fees.
The cost of living is more expensive in Paris than outside of the capital:
Between €400 and €800 per month according to the regions
Approximately 800 € per month in Paris.
Your student card allows you to benefit from discounts at the movie theatre, theatre, concerts, libraries, exhibitions and transportation.
Meals: Budget between €280 and €300 per month
Examples of prices:

The Arts et Métiers ParisTech Student Union
This is France's leading student association with 2,700 members and a budget of more than 4 million euros.
It brings together the other Student Union associations from the eight Education and Research Campus, and manages the activities of students in their final year in Paris.
The events are the reflection of the personal and collective commitment, multiplicity and the dynamic energy of the student engineers who, over the course of their 3 years, organize and participate in large-scale projects such as:
The Grand Gala des Arts et Métiers. Events such as the Gala evenings for each Centre: They contribute to promoting the institution’s image and student’s enthusiasm.
Skiozarts brings together nearly 1,500 European students on the slopes of the largest ski resorts in the Alps.
Gasole (Gadzarts Solidaires) represents the charitable solidarity of the Arts et Métiers ParisTech students and focuses both on disability awareness by participating in the Telethon or by working with HanditecAM to promote education in France (via its partners OPTIM and Du fer au Savoir) and abroad.
Gasole participates in major charity events such as the Telethon, the Red Cross Fund Drive, the Restos du Cœur or Sidaction, and also develops its own projects.
Gasole is represented in the 8 gadzarts student associations in France. Its range of action and the number of events it covers is prodigious.

R-inter-BEST is the link between the Students Union and international networks such as BEST.
In addition to organizing a week of student exchanges with foreign scientists and regular meetings, R-inter allows students from all over Europe to participate in Arts et Métiers cruise and Skiozarts.
The Arts et Métiers Forum each year attracts some 6,000 visitors and more than a hundred companies which come to recruit their future managers. On the program: conferences on career opportunities, round tables and visits to factories to raise the awareness of future engineers about the world of industry. The orientation service enables students to fine-tune their career objectives and to train in recruitment techniques.
Industrial Relations: development of project fos various companies
Sports: Sailing, football, rugby, tennis, handball, golf, track and field, skiing, Shell Marathon rally, Arts et Métiers Altitude (alpine climbing in Europe), Afric’AM (a rally in Morocco).
Humanitarian works: Educational assistance, EWB (Engineers Without Borders), Telethons, Restos du Coeur (food distribution charity for the poor), Innovation Pedagogy, etc.
