THE RESULT OF A MERGER BETWEEN THE ENI VAL DE LOIRE AND THE ENSI BOURGES, THE LOIRE VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IS A PUBLIC ENGINEERING INSTITUTE FORMING PART OF THE INSA GROUP.
FROM ITS DUAL CAMPUSES IN BLOIS AND BOURGES IN THE CENTRE REGION, THE LOIRE VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY PROVIDES A FIVE-YEAR TRAINING COURSE FOR PLURIDISCIPLINARY ENGINEERS, WITH A HIGH LEVEL IN SCIENCE, HUMANITIES, AND AN INTERNATIONALLY-AWARE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT.
THE LOIRE VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY PROPOSES FOUR SPECIALIZATIONS:
• INDUSTRIAL RISK ENGINEERING (MRI),
• INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND SECURITY (STI),
• INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS PROCESSING (GSI),
• ENERGY, RISK AND ENVIRONMENT (ERE), in partnership with the Hubert CURIEN Centre for Apprenticeship (CFSA) - Cher Chamber.
THE LOIRE VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IS LOCATED ON BOTH CAMPUSES OF BLOIS AND BOURGES, FRANCE.
THE LOIRE VALLEY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY PROPOSES ONE SPECIALIZATIONS IN SANDWHICH TRAINING (ENERGY, RISK AND ENVIRONMENT), AND OTHER THREE SPECIALIZATIONS:
INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS PROCESSING (GSI)
Risk engineering corresponds to new and growing needs and outlets. In fact, risk engineering has become a strategic economic stake due to society's ever-growing equirements in terms of safety.
Industry must be increasingly irreproachable with regard to risks which must be evaluated and mitigated constantly whatever the field of activity in question: chemical, metallurgy, nuclear, agribusiness, packaging, plant and equipment, pharmaceutical, plasturgy, waste treatment, transport, internet, data management...
The engineer in charge of safety must be able to evaluate the likelihood of an accident, communicate appropriately and efficiently, be it with scientists, employees, the media, economists, lawyers, sociologists, medical personnel, elected officials, administrative authorities...
The multiplicity of techniques involved to handle risks requires a pluridisciplinary approach. This transversal teaching approach lies at the heart of the training proposed at Bourges School of Engineering.
INDUSTRIAL RISK MANAGEMENT (MRI)
The great originality of the School :lies in the association of general engineering training and specialised courses with main emphasis on developing a deeper understanding of risk management:
- preventive and corrective actions
- environmental awareness
- corporate liability
- company and business law
- study of major natrual hazards
- control of external risks
SECURITY & COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY (STI)
The particularity of the School's approach in this discipline is to associate three strategic sectors of the field of new technologies of information and communication:
- the technologies themselves
- the contents
- the uses
The emphasis of the courses lies on those aspects linked to risk and is thus in accord with the general theme of the School.
The Loire Valley Institute of Technology is pursuing the strong on-going development of its partnerships in the economic world. Such partnerships between industry and businesses and the Institute are formed by reciprocal agreement and are based on a long-term strategy.
THE STUDENT UNION
The INSA Centre Val de Loire has an energetic entourage actively promoting creativity and personal initiative. The School is located on two campuses: Blois and Bourges . It firmly established as an essential partner to the cities of Blois and Bourges and also the region. Campus of Bourges: Located near to the city centre, the School ensures a particularly pleasant setting for all concerned. The "Printemps de Bourges", the "Maison de la Culture" (cultural centre) and the many cultural events provide endless opportunities for unforeseen encounters.
The Students\' Union thus weaves a web of contacts helping the students to be integrated into the life of the city.
In the School itself, student and associative life is organised around the Students\' Union. Everyone is free to take up a multitude of activities such as photography, chess, tarot, euchre, comics, role games, network games, music… and whatever else takes their fancy.
Parties are organised once a month to provide an opportunity to get together after lessons to chill out and debate the big projects to come. Some of the organised events include the Fresher\\\'s Weekend, the Gala, the Inter-School Tournament, the ski week, a day out to the Asterix Park, the ESC-Le Havre Transmanche (cross channel) race, the Shell Eco Marathon, the E=M6 trophy, humanitarian projects, etc.
Day after day, the Students\' Union works hand in hand with energetic associations, both new and well established. Each of these associations organises sporting, cultural, intellectual or humanitarian activities. Thanks to the sports facilities available in the city, the Sports Association enables the students to participate in a growing number of activities: rugby, sailing, rowing, horse riding, volleyball, handball, water-polo, badminton, climbing, tennis, etc.
The Students\' Union looks forward to your help in continuing to make Bourges School of Engineering a great place to be, because if the Students\\\' Union exists for you it can not exist without you!
