Founded in 1977, Telecom Bretagne is one of the most prestigious graduate engineering schools ("Grandes Ecoles") in France. It is a public institution, under the aegis of the Ministry for Industry and is a member of the Institut Telecom. The college trains future professionals for careers in industry, services and research.
Telecom Bretagne has two campuses (Brest and Rennes) with an excellent teaching record and internationally-renowned research activities such as turbocodes invented in its laboratories. It also has a large network of academic partners, in France and abroad.

At Telecom Bretagne, international activities are a basic part of the curriculum, and a major asset for careers. Such key training is not only based on our language courses and periods spent abroad but is also a daily reality on the campus with its multicultural environment. More than 45% of our students are Internationals (from 50+ countries) which is the highest rate for any higher education institution in France.

At the cutting edge of the Information Technology sector, Telecom Bretagne, located in the Brest-Iroise and Rennes-Atalante Science and Technology Parks, is one of the flagships of European institutes of higher education in Telecommunications and Computer Science. Affiliated with many networks of alliances in France and abroad, it is also a pole for high-level research activities.
Telecom Bretagne has been working closely with the n+i network for many years in Telecom and Information Technologies (IT). Students are trained in both language and science domains at master level. Such an experience is also highly valuable for intercultural aspects.

Every year the French Telecom Foundation and other grant institutions and companies provide several scholarships for suitably-qualified candidates. These candidates will first be selected by Telecom Bretagne and applications will then be submitted to the different scholarship boards.
Situated in one of the most beautiful campuses in Europe, Telecom Bretagne provides its students with a setting propitious to work as well as to community living and doing sport.
The animated on-campus life is due to the dynamism of the students who organize many activities and cultural events such as: sports tournaments with other universities, "Junior enterprise", careers fair, Global Village, music festival, Gala evening, trips, etc. They also join in important national competitions such as the Robotics cup and sailing races.

The Brest campus has 465 single rooms and 34 studios, organised in comfortable residences with well equipped kitchens.
The Rennes campus has 97 rooms and studios of the same type as Brest.
A laundry room with washing machines, tumble driers and ironing tables is available to residents.

Telecom Bretagne runs a Bridging Semester aimed at training international students in both language and science domains before they attend the main Master course with French students. Such an experience is highly valuable for intercultural aspects. At the end of this Semester, students are sufficiently trained to attend classes fully in French.
A paid "Year in industry" programme is on offer and makes it possible for students to have a valuable experience between semesters 4 and 5. Most n+i students opt for such an experience.
